About the role
In the role as Financial Controller at DFDS you will get an opportunity to grow in an international environment and engage with colleagues across the organisation.
You will be part of DFDS’ local finance team placed in Gothenburg which is responsible for the financial statements of all the Swedish entities within the DFDS Group. The finance team consists of six Financial Controllers, and this role will report to the local Finance Manager who is also based in Gothenburg. You will work in close collaboration with the Finance Business Partners for the respective business units as well as colleagues in the DFDS Business Services center (DBS).
Key Responsibilities
• Full responsibility that the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting (IFRS) is completed in due time, with the highest quality for specific legal entities
• Ensure quality and accuracy of data, conduct financial analysis, and prepare comments in connection to internal reporting and budget, in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
• Prepare and document the annual reports (K3) of the Swedish legal entities in accordance with Swedish legislation, including collaboration with auditors
• Work closely together with the DBS to secure deadlines and quality are met in the financial reporting, including constantly optimizing/improving the collaboration
• Work closely with colleagues in the local finance team, to gain and share knowledge to enable back-up/ support for other entities in the group when needed.
• Secure compliance with Tax and VAT rules as well as timely reporting to public authorities
• Experience in preparing the quarterly and annual corporate tax calculations, including the analysis and reporting of deferred tax assets and liabilities in accordance with IFRS and local tax regulations. Skilled in collaborating with auditors and tax advisors to validate deferred tax positions
• Improve and ensure internal controls and effective accounting procedures combined with DFDS Group compliance requirements
• Enhancing finance function efficiency – improving local finance effectiveness as well as support standardization and migration of tasks to the FSSC leading to enhance a lean and productive setup.
About you
We are looking for a new colleague who has a degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. You are an experienced user of business systems and excel and communicate freely both spoken and written in Swedish as well as English.
