Senior Category Manager – Procurement

Axel Christiernsson International AB is now looking for a senior Category Manager – Indirect & CAPEX within Strategic Group Procurement who will take Group-wide ownership of strategic investments, build structure, and drive business-critical CAPEX initiatives as part of the company’s global transformation journey. 

About the role 
In the role of Category Manager, you will have a key task in establishing and developing a group-wide approach to investments. The role is new and business-critical, with a large mandate and the opportunity to influence both structure and working methods in an international environment. You will report to the Head of Group Procurement and work closely with factory management, technical functions and management teams globally. 

Duties: 
• Establish and own the Group’s Indirect and CAPEX category and global sourcing strategy 
• Develop processes for investment requests, decision support and ROI calculations 
• Lead the purchasing part of major investment projects such as machinery, equipment and construction 
• Drive procurement, supplier selection and contract negotiations on a global level 
• Create standardization, synergies and long-term supplier strategies 
• Collaborate closely with operations in Europe and the US and manage a complex supplier market 

The role involves about 20–30 international travel days per year. 

Who you are 
We are looking for someone who has a strong technical and business background and who thrives in a role where you combine strategy with operational execution. You are used to working independently, building trust and driving change with respect for culture and people. 

We would like you to have: 
• Academic education in engineering, industrial economics, supply chain, or equivalent 
• Solid experience of CAPEX projects and/ or indirect procurement, investment management and industrial manufacturing environment 
• Experience in international supplier relations and global procurement 
• Ability to work in a structured, analytical and business-oriented manner without major support functions 
• An unpretentious, clear and inclusive way of working 

As a person, you are responsible, persistent and confident in your skills, with high integrity and a strong security awareness.
