Do you want to lead the development of next-generation digital health solutions? Mölnlycke Health Care is looking for a Director Software Development & Digital Platform to join its global headquarters in Gothenburg/Mölndal. This is a pivotal leadership role driving the company’s digital transformation, with responsibility for building and scaling a modern digital platform and delivering innovative software solutions for healthcare providers, patients, and clinical environments.

Our aim is to establish a full new team of 10 dedicated colleagues, all committed to build a strong team and deliver the extraordinary in our aim to innovate and build the next generation digital health solutions. We believe we do this in close day-to-day collaboration in the headquarters of Mölnlycke, situated in GoCo, Mölndal/Gothenburg.

What you’ll do

As Director Software Development & Digital Platform, you will lead the overall development of digital products and the platform that enables them. You will be responsible for building and scaling the organization, setting direction, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and compliant delivery in a global MedTech environment.

You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, combining leadership with a pragmatic, hands-on approach when needed. The role includes shaping ways of working, establishing modern engineering practices and ensuring that both product development and platform capabilities evolve in line with business and regulatory requirements.

You will lead and develop a growing team of engineers and specialists, while working closely with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, and AI/Data teams to deliver scalable and future-ready digital solutions.

Other key responsibilities for the role

• Build, lead, and scale the software development and digital platform organization
• Own end-to-end delivery and operations of global digital health solutions
• Define and evolve a scalable digital platform (cloud infrastructure, data services, integrations, identity management)
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, cybersecurity, and data privacy
• Drive modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and platform engineering
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, and AI/Data teams

We are looking for a senior technology leader with a strong background in software engineering (DevOps/DevSecOps), digital platforms and organizational leadership. Someone who combines strategic vision with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. You are an empathetic and trustworthy leader with high integrity, comfortable navigating complex global matrix organizations and making sound decisions in highly regulated environments.

Qualifications and experience

• University degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Health Informatics, Computer Science or other relevant area, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Proven experience leading software engineering or platform organizations with people management responsibility
• Strong technical foundation in modern software development, cloud-native architectures, and DevOps/DevSecOps
• Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams and digital capabilities
• Solid understanding of regulatory environments within MedTech/digital health is highly meritorious.
• Experience from other highly regulated industries such as FinTech, or similar domains could also be relevant and of interest.
• Experience with digital products, platform ecosystems, APIs, and interoperability
• Track record of driving transformation, innovation, and continuous improvement
• High proficiency in English is required both spoken and written

Additional experience we see as a benefit for the role

• Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements for Health Software and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
• Understanding of healthcare software standards, regulations and protocols (HL7, FHIR, OpenEHR, MDR, IVDR, ISO)
• Experience integrating software solutions with EMR/EHR systems in clinical environments
• Familiarity with emerging regulations and governance related to AI‑enabled software and data‑driven healthcare solutions (EU AI act)
