You will provide insights that support decisions within Operations, R&D, investments and profitability.     About the role

    Are you an experienced Business Controller looking for a business facing role within an international technology company? As a Business Controller – Operations and R&D at Icomera, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Operations and Research & Development, providing financial analysis, reporting and commercial insight that supports strategic decision-making.

    Icomera develops connectivity solutions and digital services for public transport operators worldwide and is part of Equans. In this role, you will partner closely with Operations, R&D, Product Management, Sales and senior management to monitor business performance, improve profitability and provide reliable financial information across products, projects and long-term customer contracts.

    You will report directly to the Head of Controlling. We offer a hybrid work model, allowing you to work from locations other than the office for up to two days per week.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Prepare monthly financial reporting for business units, the R&D organisation and cost centres, including analysis of actual performance against budget, forecast and previous year.
    • Consolidate financial results and prepare management reports covering revenue, gross margin, operating expenses and EBIT.
    • Monitor production related costs and provide financial analysis to support operational performance and profitability.
    • Calculate and maintain standard product costs, analyse product profitability and support pricing decisions across different regions.
    • Support project accounting, project controlling and financial follow-up of customer projects and development activities.
    • Monitor R&D expenditure, Capex and Opex, analyse development investments and contribute to business cases and investment analyses.
    • Support accurate revenue recognition, project accounting and financial reporting for long-term customer contracts.
    • Manage financial processes and system flows in SAP, contribute to system improvements together with Equans and support regional Financial Controllers when required.
    • Work with intercompany transactions, transfer pricing and cost allocation methodologies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Maintain the opportunity cost model supporting sales department to estimate and simulate costs and cash flow for tenders.

    You will provide financial recommendations that support decisions related to pricing, investments, profitability, budgeting and forecasting while identifying financial risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.

    About you

    We are looking for someone with extensive experience in Business Controlling or Financial Controlling within an international manufacturing, engineering or technology environment. You enjoy working closely with the business and translating financial data into actionable insights.

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
    • At least eight years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Controlling, Management Accounting or a similar role.
    • Strong experience working with SAP and a solid understanding of financial and operational system flows and/or experience working with large ERP systems.
    • Experience in project accounting, project controlling and project costing.
    • Experience in product costing, standard costing and profitability analysis.
    • Experience managing Capex, Opex and investment analysis.
    • Experience with transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
    • Experience working in an international and multicultural organisation.
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

    Experience with Cognos or financial modelling is considered a strong advantage.
